$10 million Innovation Fund from the City of Sacramento

March 29, 2018 - 2 minutes read

On Tuesday, June 21st, the Sacramento City Council approved a $10 million Innovation Fund titled RAILS (Rapid Acceleration, Innovation and Leadership in Sacramento) to help support the growth and development of new business’ in the City of Sacramento. The pure size of this innovation fund is unprecedented for a city and will put a boost to the entrepreneurs and those looking to create a new diverse economy in Sacramento. In comparison, the city of Los Angeles has an innovation fund in the amount of $1 million. For a city our size, this is a great opportunity.

I would urge you to investigate the options the city is providing through this fund, to see if you can take advantage of this to grow your company. This opportunity may not come around again and I can assure you the city wants to make this succeed. At the meeting on Tuesday, I was able to attend representing MedStart along with an estimated 30 other people in the audience representing start ups, the support structure for start ups and multiple entrepreneurs all to show the city that the innovative “ecosystem” exists in our city and it is ready to go. Everyone wants to help each other and take advantage of this very unique time in Sacramento. Take a look at what the city is providing through the links below and please let me know if I can help in any way.
